Apr. 26th, 2002 11:08 amHm. I was just thinking about old 1980's antidrug public service announcements, the ones where they have the kids singing, "you have the righ-yie-yie-ight to say NO!"
The phrase "you have the right to say no" is an amazing piece of spin-doctoring of the legal reality that "you have no right to say yes". I mean, looking at the word "right" in its legal sense.
But "don't do it or we'll lock you up, unless you're rich, white or named Bush" doesn't have the same ring to it.

I guess it must have been another, though, because I remember a strong landbound theme rather than a nautical one.
