Remodeling is mostly done. We have all-new doors everywhere, new flooring, lots of new off-white-but-basically-white paint...
We have given away many keys to our house over the years, to many people. I didn't actually change the locks when I moved in, back in 2001. For the first time in over twenty years, a lot of people would have to pop a window screen out if they wanted to come right into our house.
We've stored, given away, sold or thrown away most of our possessions. There's a *bit* left, but... Not much. The big group garage cave we lived in during the remodeling is feeling increasingly empty. Yeah, there are two kid mattresses back in the rest of the house, and a bit of kitchen stuff back in the kitchen. But mostly stuff's gone. There's a giant armoire and a few bookcases left out here, plus a little coffee table we're pretending is a dinner table.
Mostly the work is continuing at a pretty sane clip. We have hard work days, but we have reasonable ones in between and we think we'll get everything done. It's likely the house won't sell instantly, so we may get some (relatively) relaxing time after that and before DC and/or Japan.
The house goes on the market January 7th. Mostly everything needs to be in place or gone by then.
