Just posted to FreeCycle to get rid of some things -- a small, cheap Wacom tablet, a digital projector and a box of lighting equipment for videos and photos. Anybody willing to drive to Fremont to pick up such things? :-)
The baby is wonderfully robust and strong, and starting to hit us more, yank hair and so on.
We're at that stage where the garbage cans are permanently full. Great for our sense of progress, annoying for actually getting rid of stuff. Bulk pickup scheduled with the city in a bit over a week - could be worse.
Mostly, our house is big and echoey and empty and increasingly clean. The garage is still full-feeling as it absorbs all the stuff from everywhere else in the house, but... Things continue to leave in a hurry. We move things in, a mess forms, we organize and move things out, the mess goes away. Repeat cycle.
Selling may take longer and net us less money than we thought. Still, overall, I'll take it.
We're all culling our personal "must-haves" down, a combination of putting things into storage and giving/throwing stuff away.
Unrelated to all of the above: my professional work has been going pretty well. I'm putting more blog posts on an automatic schedule ahead of time, applying to conferences, building out new code... Each year has gotten better. I feel like this year is the inflection point between "keep everything pretty much figured out" and "start moving forward with new things." With a job as fully self-managed as much current one, this can all be a bit complicated to figure out. But I feel more balanced and grounded about it than in previous years. Things feel pretty good right this second.
