So there I was, in latex gloves, rubbing a specially-formulated oil-based lube onto the edge of a (prelubricated) filter to reduce entry friction...

And it struck me that to better understand the whole link between cars and sex that people seem to have, I should do less driving and more maintenance.

All those valves, with the pistons going up, and down, and up, and down... and the oil? And the throttle? Good lord, the shifting alone...

Bond cars are always about the powerful and exotic. They're the material compliment to the Bond girls, who are again powerful and exotic. Oh, and drop dead (sometimes literally) gorgeous.

Ah, but I think one of my favorite Bond cars, now, has to be the '57 Bel Air convertible in _Die Another Day_.

That one was pretty fine, and certainly better than the Citroen he was stuck with for a few minutes many years ago.

The color scheme on the Bel Air was good too.

I still think the talking BMW was a load of fun. He looked like such a happy little boy, playing with the remote control.

I am so with you there. I learned to drive stick on a '84 Mustang with a spring loaded clutch. Say it with me: Awwwwww yeah!.

That was a sweet ride. I have never driven a car that was so sexy since.

Some day I'm going to have to try that whole oil/latex thing on a condom and see if it happens. It's supposed to be pretty dramatic. But experiments with standard latex gloves and motor oil make them seem like a pretty inert combination.

with three fingers inserted into the condom and the condom slathered liberally with grape-seed oil and inserted vaginally I came and the condom did not lose structural integrity.

I'm thinking further experiments should be performed with different oils and different orifices.

...I got that connection long before it even occurred to me that I might have enough clue to even attempt working on my cars... actually, before I owned any cars... actually, before I got my divers licence. Actually I can't really remember a time when sex was in my brain that it wasn't connected with cars.

But I do have to say that learning to fix my cars has brought me closer to them.
