Nov. 15th, 2002 11:11 amFor the very, very few of you who know or care: Adam Wiggins' MUD, Blood Dusk, genuinely will be returning soon. Beta testing with a group of fifteenish people starts on Wednesday.
This is one of the MUDs whose feel and theme influenced me most -- it was solid, well-built and he did a couple of very unusual things which worked really well. I'm glad to see it come back.

And hey, he had priests doing useful stuff. They and Paladins actually got experience for going out to convert the heathen in the decadent city, which was at least as entertaining as the combat system on most MUDs :-) The bards could do similar, but they got the experience for playing music in crowded venues -- for being entertainers.
I feel like such a geek.
And, for the record, I have been offered the opportunity, by the man himself, to take over full operation of Blood Dusk. I didn't take it, but the offer was made.
Which told me a lot about the nature of celebrity in small communities, really.
