You've probably all seen this before, but I think it's brilliant and I have to share.

Live Gourmet sells lettuce in little plastic boxes with the roots and whatnot all still intact. You can keep watering it and keep it alive in the refrigerator for a shockingly long time. It wins.

I spent about twelve hours with Tom, proprietor of MonkeySpeak, this weekend. Win.

I have and it is. I also water it every time I take it out to grab some, which is probably why it's lasted so well. There's not much light in the fridge, so I'm actually quite impressed it's so healthy.

I'm a little disturbed by the fact that it's like a little pet except for the fact that I periodically take it out and eat bits of it. Then again, Matt and I seriously considered keeping a pet biga (sourdough starter) back in college, and that's just as disturbing at some level.
