noahgibbs: Me and my teddy bear at Karaoke after a day of RubyKaigi in HIroshima in 2017 (ease the downward spiral)

There are people who say you can't *make* anybody anything. They can *make* me a sandwich.

:-)

Sillyhead. I think the expression is you can't make anyone *feel* anything.

To which the response should be: I can make you feel cold! I'll stick your hand in the freezer!

Usually the expression is more like "Nobody can *make* you happy. Nobody can *make* you anything." And I stand by my response: "you can *make* me a sandwich" :-)

Fair enough. You are usually better at remembering things. :)

Do you want a sandwich? I can totally make you a sandwich. :)

Wouldn't help. I'm off at work.

I'll see you tonight, but by then we'll be at an Indian restaurant, which is a fairly silly place to have you give me a sandwich :-)

I'm totally useless. I can't even make you a sandwich.

*deep dramatic sigh*

Or at least, it wouldn't help for you to right now. After we get home and are stuffed with Indian food, I guess you could make me a sandwich. I'd probably eat it slowly, though.

Maybe an ice cream sandwich :-)

I think that making a sandwich requires superuser privileges.

You just say that 'cause you like quoting XKCD :-)

Now I want an ice cream sandwich.

You've got time to get one quick... Or we could grab ice cream sandwiches after dinner. I don't remember offhand what kind you like, though, so I don't know where would have them.

You are the best husband *ever*.

You could make him one to take to work tomorrow.

They are hard to transport on the motorcycle...

Ah, yes, that would be an issue.

You know, a while back I ran across a nifty bit in a documentary or something about some guys who would makes stews by lashing small pots to the undersides of their cycle exhausts. By the time they got to where they were going, it was cooked!

You can lead a husband to sandwich, but you can't make him eat.

<poof> You're a sandwich.

Hmm, drat, didn't work.

Well, I could take big bites out of him and declare him sandwich tasting. Would that qualify? I'll even put his arm between pieces of bread if it'll help.

I'm very helpful.

I'm pretty sure that won't help. I declare it unilaterally :-)

Maybe if you add some lettuce and mustard...

I'm very helpful

I've noticed that.

No, I can't. I don't have a meat-slicer big enough to fit you.

It doesn't have to be a tidy sandwich. Just use a knife.

i suspect most of you would be HAM sammiches!

as opposed to me: a dried up chicken sammich.

oh, wait, no!

i'm a 3-day-old crunchy peanut butter sammich.

I read this and thought, "huh. A ham-and-peanut-butter sandwich might be pretty good."

I've never tried.
