noahgibbs: Me and my teddy bear at Karaoke after a day of RubyKaigi in HIroshima in 2017 (Default)

It is around 4:30 am here. That means that the single shared workstation in the youth hostel is available. You lucky people!

Ive been keeping more little notes for a later LJ post. However, theyre up in my room where three roommates I dont know and cant speak to are asleep. So you get whatever is randomly on my mind right now.

Of course, I never *did* get to typing up the notes from my *first* trip to Japan. So we shall see if these get transcribed either.

The astute among you have already noticed that my current keyboard lacks an apostrophe (well, maybe its hidden on it somewhere, but Ive looked). That seems to be a feature of Japanese keyboards. There are double-quotes and two different flavors of back-ticks, but it isnt the same.

This international date line thing means that Friday is dawning here. My body is all sorts of out of whack about when I am awake and when I am sleeping. Its not as bad as it sounds.

Missing the girl a lot. No surprise. Whining. *Really* no surprise :-P

On the plus side, few people here can understand me, and I have talked to fewer yet. So Im not alienating many people.

Good dinner last night with the other wedding guests. Not seeing much of them in general, but we have gotten together a couple of times to welcome new arrivals. Last night was the younger brothers of the bride.

Still not King. But aspiring to Prince-Consort, as [livejournal.com profile] tsgeisel pointed out :-)

specifically, [livejournal.com profile] sooperspryte the female I bought my drill from when she was selling off the contents of her storage locker. She's marrying a very nice Japanese guy who is a professional cook.

No, I don't *think* he ever posted an explanation. But [livejournal.com profile] japlady has it covered, above.

*shrug* I was probably drunk. Sounds familiar, but I'm not placing a face.

*grin*

Will do. Facial hair definitely helps his appearance, though again, Im judging based on old information.

Once again I am stuck in this quandry of "can't send email from work" so I can't respond to you even though I have written an email. :( Thinking of you.

heh. The apostrophe is above the "7" key (shift-7). Not that it makes a difference to you now.

Thanks for coming! and have a safe trip home! :)
