I'm not surprised my helmet visor gets dirty. It spends time out on the street, so that's a given.

I am surprised at how much dirtier the inside of it gets than the outside. Wouldn't you expect the outside of the visor to be the really dirty part?

Have you ever really considered the nasty stuff you breathe onto that thing...that anybody would breathe onto that thing.

And it is sticky too...

Okay, but it's not even that it's dirty. There's this black residue I routinely clean off it. I may have the occasional questionable dental hygeine, but not *that* bad :-)

Basically because the stuff I clean off is black I figured it was road dust/soot/whatever. But that makes very little sense because then it would mostly (I assume) be on the outside.

So I'm confused.

Maybe it's stuff that's swirled up under and into the helmet. Convection currents without the heat, or something.

I SO know nothing about helmets.
