I just went through and did a bit of LJ housekeeping. I've been posting an entry pretty much once a day to my 3am filter for the entire last two weeks. And they run long.

Though sometimes your words make me sad, or angry, or even occasionally revolted (bear baiting comes to mind), I am happy to see a little more deeply into you. Sometimes I have no way of relating, but that doesn't mean that I don't care - though sometimes feeling powerless to help provides its own strain.

Nonetheless, you often have powerful insights and I've learned from you. Thank you for sharing.

I can't tell whether that revulsion would be directed at the topic or myself, but I suppose I should avoid paranoia about it - really either one is appropriate at some level. I have some bad, bad reactions that I keep under (sometimes) questionable control, and that kind of situation is pretty much the reason for them.

Actually, the revulsion is reserved for the baiter. I did my internship with at an SED group home for boys ages 9-15, and some of what you shared reminds me of some of their stories. While in general I have pacifistic tendencies, that sort of behavior conjures fantasies of retribution.
