Yeah. That's been my motto to myself for awhile. I'm aware that my competitive nature is only so-so against other people. The trick is to take my urge to be pretty good, and to be pretty good in amongst greatness. Sometimes this requires not competing against other human beings, since there are fields where being among the best in a field still leaves you mediocre.

Whoa, you're being deep lately. I realize it sounds like I'm being sarcastic, but I'm not. I just don't know how to say something like that without either sounding sarcastic or like I should be wearing crystals to realign my aura. But I'm not doing either. Just saying it's cool reading what Brezsny has been inspiring you to write of late.
