Just in case anyone thought it was a typo, to formicate = to swarm like or with ants. Since masses of ants appear to writhe or undulate (as do maggots), it seemed a good choice for the 'almonds'.

Yup! I also like the fact that 'hormigoso' means 'itchy' in Spanish. (An 'hormiga' is an ant)
