Feeling a tad sick? Know somebody who is?

On a different note, for those in or near Fremont: Plan B Grill and Alehouse, despite the name, has a little cut-rate La Fondue clone in the back. It's cheaper than La Fondue, in every relevant sense of that phrase.

But hey, two thirds the cost, two thirds the decor and two thirds the quality (and for me, one third the drive). It's worth considering.

I've been craving fondue of late. If you ever feel up to getting a bunch together for it, let me know.

Fondue is nummy! It's also good party food! And it involves fire. I submit that it may be a good theme food for an upcoming DGP party. And that's even less expensive than going out. Also, potentially more fun.(: ;)

Love the comic. Is it yours?

Sadly, no. It's called "Wrench Farm" now, and is the same guys who used to do Doctor Lobster (which you've also never heard of).

There's a long and storied history to it, which I doubt you care much about :-)

I'd be interested in the short version of the long and storied history. And what is the website to view Wrench Farm comics?

www.wrenchfarm.com

Some guys got together (two guys, I believe an artist/writer combo) and made a comic with similar-but-different look to modern Wrench Farm . The comic was called Doctor Lobster.

They wrote comics for each other, and for friends. Eventually that had a small but noticeable internet readership.

As a gimmick, they sold the comiic. Like, authorship of the comic.

The guy who bought it on EBay was kind of an asshole, and through a combination of a loophole in the contract and an odd technicality they were able to seize control of the comic back.

After I'd been reading awhile, they decided that their best stuff was done for friends and each other, and these internet fans wouldn't go away. So they locked the site so that internet people couldn't read it. They said when enough people stopped reading, they'd bring it back.

I so respect that.

Eventually, they got rid of Doctor Lobster, and now have Wrench Farm, which is still pretty similar. I don't know the story on that one.
