I have now seen Chicago, and I can understand why people rave about it, especially Richard Gere's suit with the LEDs.

I have now seen Moulin Rouge and I can no longer understand why people rave about it for any reason except costumes.

Robin and Marian was, of course, excellent, but I've seen that one before.

Here here! Man, I fell asleep during that movie.

Every time I drink absinthe I keep hoping Kylie Minogue will show up in a green fairy costume. But that's really my own personal issue. Frankly, I can't remember what the movie was about all that well.

I've already attempted to defend my love of Moulin Rouge to you and failed smashingly, so I have nothing to say on it here.

But I didn't mention that part of why I love Chicago so much is that I finally was able to follow the story. I've seen it in several staged productions, but wasn't impressed. One of the most impressive factors was that they managed to maintain a feel that you could get in live theater, but stepped it up several notches.

My initial thought was that Richard Gere's "Razzle Dazzle" suit wasn't done with LEDs but simply with a metallic thread, somehow.

I suppose small LEDs would work better.

I'd love to have a version with EL wire.

I *so* want this for Gaskells...

I'm in total agreement. Moulin Rouge looked so impressive in the ads but I hated it. I was so let down. And then when I saw Chicago, after the first 10 minutes or so I thought "This is exactly what I was expecting from Moulin Rouge and didn't get". My favorite scene is the one with the marionettes. And also the line "And now ladies and gentlemen... A tap dance"

:)
