Feb. 4th, 2004 02:40 pmThis week, Brezsny says to Gemini:
You're in a phase of your yearly cycle when fate will conspire to expand your perspective, get you naturally high, and turn you into an explorer. To align yourself with these cosmic tendencies, you might want to charter a supersonic MiG-25 Foxbat plane to ferry you to the upper edge of the atmosphere, where you can see the curvature of the Earth. Other good ideas: Sail over Tanzania's Serengeti Plains in a hot-air balloon; paraglide off the sea cliffs at Oahu's Makapuu Point; or take a class in shamanism at a local yoga center.
Sigh.
It'd be nice.
Any of those, really.

Date: 2004-02-04 04:17 pm (UTC)Hi!
Although doing any of those things would certainly be cool, fun and interesting, I don't see any of them as being necessary. What is necessary is taking another look at the world around you, stepping at least a bit out of your rut, and seeing the world a little differently. Or, to use different words: "stop and smell the roses!"
Best of luck and sensation in your current experiential phase!
-(Cheers)

Date: 2004-02-04 06:07 pm (UTC)Get lost in a new place.
Hike a high hill and look around a bit.
A silent sunset.
Visit the edge of a continent.
Stargaze.
Bug hunt.
Fast.
There are things all around us that, that are often disregaurded, because we are used to them. But they can be just as effective at revealing how we see things as the "big expereience" if we recognize their value. If the idea is to expand your perspective? Then seeing more in the day to day may be more effective, and much more attainable.
Which is not to say the other things wouldn't be enjoyable, just not very reasonable.
