Party prep is going decently. I'm all set for chocolate now... Still need to hit Rick's Rather Rich and Safeway, but things are getting closer.

And decorating. I should decorate. And a costume. I need pants for my costume, and to mess with my hat...

Eh. Could be worse. I've had less-prepared parties, even at the current level.

Ordinarily I'd concur, but this is a costume party. And a pirate in a Utilikilt would just look silly.

Then again, considering what I'm thinking of wearing, perhaps a kilt wouldn't be that much sillier.

Heh. Okay, you win. If you can provide me a velvet miniskirt in blue, purple, or something else that goes decently with purple, I'll wear it with the purple pirate shirt and the pinned purple pimp hat. Which, with work, could be a tongue-twister.

Unrelated... but it came up inconversation tonight, what was the name of that movie that had the windmills and the post apocoliptic part and the underground thing, and was a japanese aname? So nice and I want to recomend it to people, but I can't remember the name...

Hrm... Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind? That'd be the one with the post-apocalyptic wasteland of toxic forest, with the enormous bugs protecting it, and the girl on the glider, and the bit with the huge red God-soldier.

Otherwise, it sounds a little like you're talking about "Tetsuo II: Body Hammer", but that wasn't nearly as good a movie.

It's really, really tough to get a good copy of Nausicaa. Do not rent "Warriors of the Wind", which is based on the same material but was so badly hacked up that Miyazaki refused to release any more movies in the US until his contract with that distributor ran out years later. Disney is supposedly gonna do a dub of Nausicaa (they already did Princess Mononoke from the same studio), but I don't think it's happened yet. I'm waiting...
