noahgibbs: Me and my teddy bear at Karaoke after a day of RubyKaigi in HIroshima in 2017 (Default)

Awhile back, Ben and Jerry's came out with a flavor called Half Baked. It's a combination of their Cookie Dough ice cream with whatever they call their brownie ice cream. And at the time, silly me, I thought: okay, they've got my freakin' number. I guess I'll be buying a lot of Ben and Jerry's from here on out.

And I did.

But I made the mistake of thinking they'd come out with the ultimate hook-line-and-sinker flavor for me. That kind of thinking has a way of coming back around to bite me on the butt. Like, for instance, when they more recently released "Brownie Batter". If they ever release Brownie Batter plus Cookie Dough, it'll be time for me to head for the hills before I gain 300 pounds and need a bigger house and car.

As part of my vengeance on the world for this delicious atrocity, I'm inflicting Trader Joe's Brandy Beans on anybody who makes it to the party. It's a dark chocolate bean filled with, you guessed it, brandy. They claim to be 4.5% alcohol, which must include the chocolate in the total because otherwise it wouldn't properly burn going down. Mmmm....

And hey, one last time: come to the party. Everybody. That means you! :-)

If you're inclined to say "what party?" then e-mail me or comment or something. It's on Friday, you've got time yet.

Your house is some absurdly large number of miles from where I presently abide. I'd have to get in the car now. Not that this doesn't appeal to me, but I'm already missing more time at work than I ought.

Don't be silly -- a plane is a much faster way to get to CA ;-)

Mmm... almost want to fly up just for brandy beans...

Doom, I tell you! Doom!

If you're really worried about the 300lbs, you probably shouldn't read this... :-)

There's a Ben and Jerry's shop @ Mercado Center in Sunnyvale. The thoroughly helpful person behind the counter will happily hand-pack pints of whatever combinations you like.

When I asked if they had a menu so I could decode all the interesting names (What is "One Sweet Whirled" anyway?). He replied that *he* would be acting as my interactive menu, ever so much better than paper since he could provide samples in addition to answering questions.

He knew things that weren't on the board, too -- I confessed my weakness for Karmel Sutra; he said he could make it by combining two other flavors. It was cool to meet a guy who obviously enjoyed his job!

And yes, they have both Brownie Batter and Cookie Dough on hand.

Help-ing!

*le sigh*

Guess I'll just have to haul back lots.

Luckily we still don't have a functional chest freezer (need to cut some glass? :-P ). Less luckily, I've just agreed to pay an electrical contractor way too much to get all the electric foo set up, so soon I'll have the freezer working, live next to a dry ice company, and be ready to bring back way too much ice cream. Very important.

I'm coming to the party and I am bringing Sugar and Spice so they can properly appreciate your Port for me since I can't have any.

And I have a spare freezer in storage, dorm sized. Perfect for storing Ice Cream.

I told Brian on Monday, but just for the official RSVP, Paul and I won't be able to make it. Why does everything have to be this weekend? I'm free for the next month but there's a hundred (or at least 5) things I want to do this weekend and none of them are anywhere close to each other.
