So far this week, [livejournal.com profile] gaaneden and [livejournal.com profile] mertuil are doing great with Brezsny's advice, so let's see what he's got for me...

"Pollsters asked a thousand kids aged 3-6 which they liked better, daddy or TV. Fifty-three percent asserted that they preferred TV. But even if your own inner child might be inclined to vote with the majority on this question, Gemini, I beg you to go in the other direction in the coming weeks. Why? Because you could really use the inspiration of a father figure: a benevolent older male who can inspire you to activate your latent reserves of ferocious willpower and wild confidence."

Wild confidence? That'd rule out my actual, literal father on this one. Ferocious willpower? Hm. I'd give my dad major points for ferocious tenacity, but that's different, especially the way he does it.

Which leaves the question -- what paragon of ferocious willpower and wild confidence do I know? Nope, sorry [livejournal.com profile] mertuil, you're not male :-P

But I can play one on TV, wouldn't that help?

Just not George Michael.

All the father figure has to do is inspire this ferocious willpower and wild confidence.

Maybe, instead of having these talents, they should totally lack them, and this lack should bug you so much that you say, "HEY! I'm going to be TOTALLY unlike that crazy father figure!"

Or not. Bug, maybe? I hear he's well-adjusted.

I like bug, but I'm not sure he inspires said willpower and confidence. Unless I was into mobile computing. Then it would be a whole different story.

So far I'm avoiding the whole gargoyle thing entirely, though.

Some of Breszny's advice is hard to follow. I didn't find a single person to whom I wanted to say "I love you more than Madonna loves column inches" last week, though lord knows I'm filing the line away for an appropriate moment. :}

Yeah. I couldn't find anybody for the George Bernard Shaw quote, either.

It's a shame, because one of his similar bits of advice is among the best I've ever received.
