noahgibbs: Me and my teddy bear at Karaoke after a day of RubyKaigi in HIroshima in 2017 (Default)

A hot water heater exploded in my building. No hot water 'til Monday or Tuesday.

Some car parts were backordered. No car 'til Monday or Tuesday.

People are away and I have other stuff to do. Nobody to see 'til Monday.

I think I'll sit, think, write and order pizza. And take a cold shower, though not for the classic reasons.

Geesh,
That sucks.
I'm not going to Peers tonight either
A) I have been up late dancing Thursday and Friday, so I needed the rest
B) Vampires are not on of my favorite themes

Yeah. "People who are thrilled about vampires" tends to be all I have to think about to convince me I'm not into that.

Vampyres

Poo, forget the Vampires. We went as Tarts. The Bal des Vampyre, while drawing a different croud, is just another theme for the most part. The Danger Twins and I usually ignore it and do what we want in a dark theme type of way. One year we were Witches (Maid, Warrior and Crone, the Mother couldn't make it). Another year we were the Furies.

The Vampire theme does make for some great Goth costuming though. Very nice eye candy for the sit and watch people dances.

Poorly, alas. I'm convinced that I'm not going to be able to write nearly as much as I'd like on the topic and in the style I've chosen.

There are a couple of ways I can deal with that -- I can write a short story instead (just write less), I can switch themes/topics/whatever, or I can say "ah, writing a novel's not for me anyway." I should decide fast. I'm trying.

Though specifically-chilled water is definitely not making my Californized posterior particularly happy. I could do with lukewarm water just fine, but cold water's a bit much.

The garbage disposal also seems to have stopped working, but that may be unrelated.
