Breathe...
Oct. 17th, 2002 11:40 amSo, I got a phone call this morning. One about an offer.
I've got a house.
There's the regular round of inspections and things to go through, but...

Date: 2002-10-17 12:46 pm (UTC)So now that the buyer has seen the house, and the buyer's girlfriend has seen the house, any chance of the buyer's potential housemate seeing the house?

Date: 2002-10-17 12:52 pm (UTC)C'mon, I want some kudos here! Can I see the house to? Can I? Can I? Can I? Can I? Can I? huh? Puleeeeaze?
Okay, being a grown-up again.
If there is an opportunity for another viewing, I would greatly appreciate an invitation.

Date: 2002-10-17 12:55 pm (UTC)But there's going to be a nice long house inspection late next week, to which either or both of you could be cordially invited. It's likely to be during business hours, though, which is likely to be a problem at least for you, Rachel.
It may be at nine in the morning, so that may work for Brian.
But yeah, I need to find a way to let more people see it. *After* I move in is easy -- among other things, I need to have a port party :-) But that may not be until the new year.

Date: 2002-10-17 12:59 pm (UTC)Also, if it is at 9, I might be able to arrange to come in late even if it isn't on Friday.
So let me know when you do the inspection and stuff and if I can, I will go.
Madness might have something to say about this.
Date: 2002-10-17 01:59 pm (UTC)That's what you've got, buddy-o.

Date: 2002-10-18 12:54 pm (UTC)I don't know what kind of inspections California law requires. We only had to have a bug inspection. No site survey, nothing else like that. On the up side, we had our dad's (one contractor and one rental property owner) who are both able to look and tell us stuff like "you'll need to get your electrical service upgraded" and "there are no problems with your foundation" and stuff like that.
Maybe I'm paranoid, but I've been doing research on construction defect claims all day, and california seems to be one of the states that has a lot of problems, especially with newer construction.
When was your house built?
Oh, and GIF, dammit!

Date: 2002-10-21 12:08 am (UTC)i was just following random links from the skibo list to see how far pittsburgh grads go (no, i didn't attend cmu, but have good friends who did) and followed your journal for a bit and found your link to futuregirl's page (re: god as abusive SO), which i appreciated greatly and also commented on.
So, just passing on the good wishes. good luck in your brandy new house. may it be filled with laughter.
