Steve Martin's a weird comedian. He's neat, often he's really funny, and he's obviously a very smart man. But his comedy is strange. Apparently it's a slowly evolved strangeness that occurred over many years.

He describes it here in an interview. It's a really, really good description.

I liked this quite a bit. I keep thinking about it. I think traditional humor = punchlines, stupid jokes, "dad jokes," corny. Quirky humor is dry, witty, and not always obvious right away. I'm not positive if these are binary, but I keep thinking of my brother and I and how we don't really get each other's humor at all. Also, why ppl are very confused by my humor sometimes...
