Still with the keeping on
Jun. 27th, 2015 04:13 pmI'm still home by myself. I'm still at the decreasingly-new job. I'm doing a perfectly tolerable job of cleaning and feeding myself and so on. It's odd re-adjusting to one-guy-size shopping, cooking, etc.
It's hot lately. Fair enough, it's nearly July.
That game Kickstarter I backed hasn't quiiiite made it to "funded", though it'll happen tomorrow or the next day I expect. The same studio did a really neat game called "Contrast" about jumping through shadows to get at things you want. The one I backed is about a bizarre retro-future 1960s, being forced to conform and, in some sense, quiet alienation from everything around you. Have I mentioned how happy I am that it's cheaper to make games these days and we're seeing some different ones? I really am.
If you didn't see or listen to President Obama's eulogy for Rev. Pinckney, go do that. This is the full-throated defense of Black America that we've been waiting for from Obama. I'm glad he made it here.
I'm on day three of a four-to-eight-day caffeine break. I need them now and again to keep caffeine effective. I'm dragging, but not as much as I expected.
Some Ruby authors, me included, are getting together for a summer bundle sale -- everybody's stuff at half-or-so off, etc. We'll see how it turns out. I'm glad somebody wanted to organize it -- yay for getting to participate :-)
I have days when I feel very energetic. I have days when lots gets done. It's interesting how often they're not the same days.
