This project thing I've been working on...
Nov. 4th, 2010 10:50 amI've been working hard to drill a number of things into my thick, opinionated skull. One is "if you're not embarrassed by version one, you didn't release early enough."
I've been working for awhile on this techie job site idea, called WantMyJob.com. The idea is that you tell it about places you've worked, and about what places you'd like to work would look like. It matches those up, and suggests jobs for you from what other people have said, and suggests your jobs for other people.
There's lots of other plans, but that's what's working.
Oh, did I mention it's working?
Here it is.
If you've got a techie-type job (programmer, sysadmin, whatever), give it a look. It's very, very unpolished and has very little data. Despite that, the bits that are there seem to work.
If you don't have a techie-type job and submit questions, I'm not sure what I'll do. Probably just include them in the site too. Why not? But a lot of the questions won't help you much, so you may just need to skip them. There's a button for that.
So -- here's an embarrassing first stab at a neat site idea, for all my LJ friends. If you have trouble figuring it out, let me know. That means I screwed up :-)
