As many of you know, we've been trying to sell our house prior to moving to Pittsburgh. It's been on the market since mid-January, which was a rather tumultuous time in the housing market. It's now a less tumultuous time, at least in Fremont, and the market is churning on semi-steadily, so it looks a bit less like chaos. However, it also looks like we're significantly above market price, and we're just not likely to sell.

While it's possible to rent the place out, directly or through a company, we don't want that level of financial exposure -- having to pay full price with minimal down-payment in Pittsburgh *and* having this place to manage means both expense and exposure to market changes. It also means the house becoming run-down, because rental property does that, which would suck when we *could* sell it again.

So instead, we're planning to stay here for awhile. We've told a few people when they've asked, but here, you folks can all have a mass announcement instead.

We haven't actually taken the house off the market yet, though that's likely to come soon. We just really don't expect it to sell.
