noahgibbs: Me and my teddy bear at Karaoke after a day of RubyKaigi in HIroshima in 2017 ("makes sense")
These folks have developed a facial animation tool that works purely by computer vision. Basically, you give it video of people acting like people and it will move a computer-modeled face to match. This is the kind of work that traditionally requires a lot of animator-time and is really painstaking and obnoxious.

But more importantly -- go to their site and hit "play" on the big video. The match-up isn't quite perfect, but it's *very* impressive, especially on such a differently-shaped modeled face. Some of the "not quite perfect" is just that the face the computer is controlling doesn't look much like the woman they're filming.
