General Update
Aug. 3rd, 2005 12:43 pmThis past weekend,
meowlzebub and I went down to Santa Barbara. It was a lovely trip. I like this whole "mini-vacation in between jobs" thing. That was kinda how my last trip to SB worked, too. Much good food was had - oh, hey, Anton, if you're reading, Karim says hi! :-)
The housemates have moved their large stuff out, and most of their small stuff. The place is looking noticeably abandoned. That's progress, of a sort, and certainly means that their next adventure is well underway. Best wishes to them on their new place!
I basically got almost nothing done on the job hunt last week. That was effectively intentional. Well, and the fact that I spent a lot of that time talking to Motorola about whether they'd give me a job and what it'd be like if they did. So I guess that qualifies as some work on the job hunt. Anyway, I have since applied to a several more places. Got a phone interview coming up tomorrow, and an in-person interview not-quite-promised at another place early next week. We'll see how it goes, but I can honestly use the break. I'm hoping to get my house clean and livable *before* taking on the next job, and I can afford to take a bit of a break. So I'm not job-hunting quite as hard as might otherwise be the case.
I should be doing more cleaning and yardwork, though, just on principle. Instead, I've been working on my MUD library, among other things.
