May. 21st, 2003 01:19 pmCirque du Soleil's Alegria will be in San Francisco from early November to early December. Tickets go on sale to the public on June 18th. People like me, who give them their email address and get into the silly Cirque Club thing can start buying them right now.
November. I can't plan my life that far ahead. Maybe I'll get the tickets now and just worry about who to go with when it's closer to happening.
Oh, and for Dan Savage fans: apparently Ashton Kutcher actually reads his column and even wrote back to Dan. The column this week (I read it in the Onion AV Club, which comes out a bit earlier than The Stranger or RSS) has more details.

May. 21st, 2003 01:53 pmThe problem with LJ being the nice little community that it is, is that you can't really bitch about somebody who's on your LJ friends list. There's too much overlap. And it comes off as complaining about them to mutual friends because you won't talk to them directly. That winds up being, as a friend recently called it, "very junior high". Maybe I *do* need a private journal that nobody else reads. Which, of course, entirely foils the intent of putting it into an online journal. Grunt.

bk2w traded cars with me awhile back. He's got my easy-to-drive old automatic pickup truck while his leg heals, and I have his red sportscar, the first stickshift vehicle I've ever driven. I'm now pretty comfortable scooting around residential areas in up to about third gear. I think highway driving is gonna require more late-night trips onto 680 where people are tolerant, in the very fast lanes and have room to pass me whenever they feel like it.
