Dan Savage infiltrated the Bauer campaign and licked their doorknobs (no, like actual literal doorknobs). Aw, yeah.

The trip to Napa was good. I came back with a lovely array of different olive oils and vinegars. I'll need to hold a tasting or something.

Disasters in March. What anniversaries of disasters are in early March? I wish I knew. We need a date for the next house party.

Ides of March?

How early is early? Does the Ides of March (March 15) count?

It might. It's famous enough. And it'd be just barely early enough.

Maybe I'll just go for that since all the other stuff I've checked out doesn't work so well.

We've got a good one for April. The Chernobyl disaster was in late April.

Dan Savage is so badass. I want to be him when I grow up.
My Demotivator calendar has anniversaries of various snafus and mistakes. If I remember to check it tonight I'll see if I can't find you a disaster.

Thanks much! I tried an older one and couldn't find anything useful for a party, but you may have better luck.

Once upon a time I owned a book called something like "The Pessimist's Journal of Very, Very, Very Bad Days" which would have been perfect. I haven't had a copy of that for years, alas.

Oook, no! I want the Ides.

It was going to be the perfect night for the Henson movie fest.

Could I get you to reconsider? I will find a disaster, I am sure there is one somewhere....

Okay. If you can find something earlier in March, that'd be perfect :-)

Hah! Powell's had a copy. Good, I may have a perfect source of bad days to use from here on out.

My calendar reports that Syd Barrett was fired from Pink Floyd on March 2, 1968 for being an acidhead, and a commercial passenger plane narrowly missed crashing into a gas station on Hollywood Way on March 5, 2000. The pilot was recorded as saying over the radio, "Well, there goes my career." I'm not sure you can have a Plane Almost Crashed party, but acid and Pink Floyd lend themselves to parties quite readily. Though maybe not the kind of party you have in mind.

I think I'd prefer we not have a disaster party on the Ides of March, or even in honor of the Ides of March. I'd like to avoid any association between my birthday and the word "disaster".
